Local

Kn.E.C.T. as a group likes to help people in various ways.  In our local community we like to make a difference by using our hands and hearts on our own local projects as well as assisting community organizations with their events.  Our specialty is tackling a project that would take one person days to complete, but, with our combined “helping hands and hearts” finish the task in a minimal amount of time while having fun and Knecting with new friends.

We help with:

Roadside Clean Up

As a team we clean the ditches of County Road 7 from the corner of County Road 21 to the top of what is known as Maitland’s Hill. We take pride in keeping our community clean.

Help with Your Home

Otherwise known as Kn.E.C.T. Community Makeover. We like to call this our version of Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. Each summer we like to take on a few home projects. Kn.E.C.T. helps homeowners who are having difficulty keeping up with work around the home. This may be due to illness, family loss, or physical challenges. We will provide free labour to assist with major spring jobs such as raking, weeding, tilling, painting, rubbish removal and minor repairs. All the work is done by our volunteers with help welcomed from the homeowners friends, family and neighbours. See photos.

Habitat for Humanity

One of Kn.E.C.T.’s team building projects was to help with Habitat for Humanity in Wellington County. We worked on a home in Guelph. The project was called “My Neighbour’s House” and is located in the Ward area of Guelph. This was our first time working on a Habitat project. We were very excited about this project.

The Santa Claus Parade

In the past we have helped marshall the Santa Claus Parade in Elora. Our volunteers collected the judging sheets from the parade entrants and ran them to the Judges sitting at the Elora Legion. This enabled each float/entrant to be judged.
